Cedar Point hosted its annual offseason behind the scenes tour again this year. The event followed a similar format as in past years where each attendee received a map and good visit designated your stops in any order. New stops this year included going in the float barn, seeing the progress being made on the new Farmhouse restaurant in Frontier Town and being able to go under the first drop of Valravn. All proceeds from the event went to A Kid Again. Over $100,000 was raised crushing previous records for the event. This was bolstered by a raffle held during the event with great prizes including Wicked Twister wheels and signs as well as a grand prize of a Cadillac Car (without motor).
During the event, we were able to check out lots of the different construction projects happening at the park. Wicked Twister is no more. Snoopy Boutique and Coasters are being reimagined. The two Subway establishments are gone with Derby Dogs opening by Cedar Downs and Lemmy's Walking Taco in Cedar Point Shores. The park's major addition this year is Farmhouse located on the former site of the Cadillac Cars. The restaurant will feature made from scratch foods and a rotating menu. There is some indoor and outdoor seating as well as a small outdoor stage being built in the area.
The largest investments by far to the resort are outside the park's boundaries in the form of the large scale refurbishments of Castaway Bay and Sawmill Creek. Both are scheduled to open by early Summer with Castaway opening by Memorial Day weekend.
Follow along as we take you through each and every stop.
