We're here on a blustery and frigid February morning for Winter Chill Out.
Cedar Point continued the tradition of offering an offseason tour for its biggest fans. Employees of Cedar Fair and Cedar Point volunteered their time and guests could attend by making a donation. All proceeds from the event went to A Kid Again and this year the proceeds approached $108,000.
This year the event was offering in the 'tour group' format where attendees were led through different stops around the park. 2024 is the year of Top Thrill 2 for Cedar Point. The world's fastest triple launched coaster is set to open this season and attendees were able to get several glimpses of the construction progress for this ride as well as see and sit in one of the ride carriages.
Unlike past events, there were no park announcements, but we were rest assured that it was because offerings for the upcoming season were still being finalized and the park was not ready to communicate them. New food offerings (themed to Top Thrill 2) as well as new live entertainment offerings are coming this season. As well we could see some progress remaking the Millennium VIP Lounge into what we hope is a more permanent building.

We received a nice gift upon entry consisting of a winter hat and gloves with Cedar Point and A Kid Again branding. A Kid Again is the charity to which all proceeds from this event are going to.
No snow this year besides the light dusting received over night.
This year the park's attention seems to be paid squarely on Top Thrill 2, and rightfully so. Most of the activity around the park is centered in the area around that ride.
The event was arranged in the 'tour group' format where we were led along stop by stop around the park.
In our case, our path around was determined to be a clockwise loop around the park.
Along the way, we got to see offseason preparation. Here we can see parts of Cedar Downs disassembled.
More on this later, but outside we could see several Sky Ride cabins sporting a new wrap for the upcoming season.
