Hello from Kings Dominion! We arrived before daybreak this morning to ride Rapterra for the first time!
In this photo update, we share our initial impressions from getting a chance to experience Rapterra at Kings Dominion. Rapterra is a launched wing coaster from Bolliger & Mabillard of Switzerland. The roller coaster was constructed in the Jungle X-Pedition section of the park on the former site of Volcano the Blast Coaster. The coaster operates two trains which get launched to 65 miles an hour. The tallest point of the ride is 145 feet in the air and over the course of 3,086 feet of track riders experience 3 inversions. The coaster is fast and features many low to the ground moments enhancing the sense of speed.

The Jungle X-Pedition section of the park feels different now and it getting closer and closer to being complete.
The first thing we noticed was how Rapterra extends onto the main midway to the point that it can interact with Tumbili!
The entrance to Rapterra reuses the old Volcano queue building.
