Reeses Cupfusion and Chocolatetown
Hersheypark Trip Report Photos Taken: 09/08/2019 Posted: 12/08/2019In this update, we visit Hersheypark to checkout Reese's Cupfusion as well as the construction progress on Chocolatetown.
The revamp of Xtreme Cup Challenge into Cupfusion pleasantly surprised us. The technology used to blend physical sets and projection technology was very well done. Maintaining the scoring component as well as placing a stronger emphasis on leaderboards makes the ride very reridable.
As far as Chocolatetown is concerned, this new expansion is HUGE! The park boundary is being extended all the way to Chocolate World and is being populated with new stores, shops and of course, rides. Candymonium, a B&M Hyper Coaster is the anchor attraction of this new section. Dubbed by the park as their sweetest coaster, we expect a ride experience very similar to Sea World Orlando's Mako, and that is a great thing.
Follow along with us as will continue to keep you up to date on the progress of Chocolatetown as we approach the area's opening in 2020.
The tram circle has been moved up and is now right at the Chocolate World entrance.
And here is where the changes start. The entrance area looks way different than it did last year.
The ticket booths have been moved up and the beginnings of the new entrance can be seen.
For now, guests must walk through a pathway through the Chocolatetown construction to get to the temporary entrance.
The park did setup a couple temporary souvenir shops and restrooms to fill the gap this year.
