A portion of the beach was opened up for those who wanted to experience the eclipse from there.
Cedar Point hosted truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity opening its doors a month early to guests offering a chance to view a total solar eclipse from within the park or beach. For 6 hours on a Monday in early April, the park operated its Boardwalk area of the park including rides such as the Giant Wheel, GateKeeper, Wild Mouse and maXair as well as put on some special eclipse related educational activities. The park also offered a ticket that included an opportunity to view the eclipse from the top of Valravn.

Always great to get some rides on GateKeeper. The weather was just so perfect on this day getting close to 70 degrees.

As the moment came nearer, a countdown appeared next to the DJ boot that was setup for the event. The music could be heard throughout the entire boardwalk area.

The park offered guests the chance to write a message that would go into a time capsule.
There were also a couple event specific midway games.
