In this photo update, we return to Waldameer Park for its opening day which in this strange year ended up being July 3rd!
2020 was setup to be a big year for the park. In addition to opening the new Whirlwind coaster, Waldameer was also debuting Rally Racer, a mat racer slide, in their Water World water park.
As for the park's COVID-19 protocols, Waldameer required all guests to wear masks when in the dry park. Reservations were required to keep park capacity at appropriate levels. Hand sanitizer was found in multiple places around the park. Some of the close quarters attractions such as Pirate's Cove will be closed for the year. All queues contain red 6 foot spacing dots and the food service locations contain plexiglass to protect the employees.
