Adventureland Trip Report Photos Taken: 05/28/2022 Posted: 01/30/2023In this photo update, we return to Adventureland Resort in Des Moines, IA. Since our last visit, the park has spent the last few years revitalizing its ride lineup. This is continuing this year with the opening of Flying Viking and Draken Falls, a Zamperla Junior Coaster and Super Flume integrated rides attraction.
Also the park had been sold to Palace Entertainment and was under its first season under the new ownership this year which brought about upgrades to modernize the park's infrastructure.
Since our last visit, two new coasters had opened. The Phoenix is a new Maurer-Sohne spinning coaster. Dragon Slayer is an S&S 4-D Free Spin. Also one coaster was removed (the classic Hopkins Rides coaster Dragon).
There's lots to see at Adventureland and the future is bright, so follow us as we take you around the park.

We visited during one of the first weeks that the park was under new ownership, so I'll forgive them for not knowing much about what a Kennywood Platinum Pass was. We got to park in a special lot though!

You enter by going under the train tracks on either side of the station.

Yes there is a whole main street area at the front of the park. This here is the town square.

We arrived early, so we had a chance to walk around a bit waiting for the rope drop.
